“Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work…” Is. 54:16
Purpose
Throughout the ages, man has invented, and designed things based on a demand. In other words, the NEED is why the invention was even brought into existence. Moreover, time is taken to carefully consider how the design should be crafted to uniquely satisfy the purpose. The point here is that the need was there BEFORE the design, hence WHY and HOW the design even came to be. We learn from this the value of purpose behind ALL inventions!
In Isaiah 54:16, we are reminded that God has created all things specifically SUITED for the purpose. Look at the phrase, “Who brings forth an instrument for his work.” Just as a blacksmith forges an instrument based on the purpose, so God has forged YOU based on YOUR purpose.
Suited for Your Calling
Let’s be honest, a lot of us may feel that we are too small for our purpose, that our passions overwhelm us, and our dreams are outside of our ability. But God says that He has fashioned you with your purpose in mind. You are perfectly suited for your calling. God has not set you up to fail, on the contrary, He has set you up for success! Your personality, your strengths, and your gifts are fit to your purpose.
The key? Surrender to God! I know that sounds cliché and probably many of you just rolled your eyes. Or, perhaps you nodded your head because you’ve “already heard that.”
The question is, HAVE YOU DONE IT?
Pliable in His hands
The Bible says to “delight yourself in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart.” Your heart is where your passions live. It is where you discover makes you tick, and what ticks you off!
The word delight in the Hebrew means:
- to be soft, delicate, or pampered
Think about the idea of being soft and pliable in His hands, vulnerable to His Word, and pampered by His love. It is a complete SURRENDER to His Presence. Therefore, let GOD fashion you DAILY by HIS love. Trust that He is preparing you for YOUR purpose. He is not a God who teases.
In conclusion, if He put a passion in you, you can be confident because He has designed you perfectly suited to fulfill it!
